Voices of apprentices

Why choose an apprenticeship at ECOMAL? What makes our training programme special? Our apprentices can tell you all about it.

I am doing my office management assistant apprenticeship at ECOMAL because the role is varied and you get to know all the departments. There are friendly colleagues and a multicultural working environment, and I am always learning something new.

Alejandra Urieles
Apprenticeship as an office management assistant

During my apprenticeship at ECOMAL, I gained comprehensive insights into the processes of receiving, storing and shipping goods as a warehouse logistics specialist. I am particularly excited by the prospect of working with modern logistics systems and collaborating with a team to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Janek Hillenbrand
Apprenticeship as a warehouse logistics specialist

During my internship at ECOMAL, I got to know all the commercial teams and departments, and immediately realised that I really enjoyed the work. After that, it was obvious to me that this was where I should start my training as an office management assistant.

Frequently asked questions

You will find answers to frequently asked questions here. If your question is not answered there, please contact us.

Apply

Just apply directly online for your desired training position via our job board. There you'll find a link that'll take you to the online application form.

You can apply for apprenticeships as soon as we advertise them on our job board. This is normally in September, one year before the apprenticeship starts. The earlier you apply, the better.

Most importantly, make sure your documents are all there. Say hello with a cover letter explaining why you're interested in the apprenticeship and why you want to do it at ECOMAL. We'll also need a CV with your contact details, school education, training certificates, and internship references. This will help us get to know you a bit better. Don't worry, we know this is one of your first applications! Make sure your documents are tidy, free from spelling mistakes and that you've included all the necessary information. Your family and friends will be happy to help, no doubt.

It's a good idea to find out about our company and the apprenticeship in advance. Think about why you're interested in the apprenticeship and ECOMAL beforehand. Make sure you allow enough time for your journey. Better to be 10 minutes early than a minute late. Dress code: You should feel comfortable in your own skin. It's really important to look clean and tidy, but you don't have to wear a suit or business attire!

Take a deep breath and be yourself! We understand that you may be nervous. Just stay authentic and honest. We're not looking for the perfect candidate, just people who are interested in training and who would be a good fit for us. We're inviting you to ECOMAL in Kirchzarten for the interview with our training manager. The idea is that we get to know you and you show us why you're interested in the training programme and why we should hire you. We'll of course also introduce ourselves and explain how the training programme works. Now's the time to ask any questions you've got. It's best to write these down in advance so you don't forget anything.

You did really well in your interview and you're still keen to start your apprenticeship at ECOMAL? Then we'd love you to come along to a taster day. You'll get to know your future colleagues from the specialist departments there and you'll see the work processes live on site. After the taster day, we'll both decide if we want to draw up a apprenticeship contract and you'll start your professional life with us.

During the apprenticeship

Here's what you can expect during your apprenticeship:

  • 1st year of the apprenticeship: 1.155,26€

  • 2nd year of the apprenticeship: 1.205,18€
  • 3rd year of the apprenticeship: 1.327,08€

You can also expect extra vacation pay and a Christmas bonus.

We offer a wide range of benefits for our apprentices. We've put together a list of all the plus points for our apprentices.

Your apprenticeship at ECOMAL starts with our Welcome Days. We'll introduce you to the company, the trainers, your colleagues, and of course, the other apprentices. During the first few days, we'll give you all the info you need about the training programme and ECOMAL. The programme includes presentations, short seminars, and a joint evening event. This helps us all get to know each other better.

During your training, you will get to know all departments and colleagues. Depending on the department, you will work there for several months or just a few days. You will be involved in day-to-day business, be assigned your own projects, and learn everything you need for your future career. You will also attend vocational school in Freiburg 1 to 2 days per week.

Yes. Depending on your qualifications and how well you do at school, you could get your apprenticeship period shortened by up to six months.

Our aim is to hire our apprentices after they've finished their apprenticeship. If everything goes well, we'll offer you a job at ECOMAL before you even take your final exams.

Requirements

It depends on which apprenticeship you're interested in. The best thing to do is to find out more about the apprenticeship here.

No, we're not looking for a specific GPA. Your grades are only important to give us an initial overall impression of you.

Yes, and we really recommend you take this opportunity. An internship is a great way to figure out if your chosen career is really what you thought it'd be and if you'll fit in at ECOMAL. Whether you're with us for a day or a week, you'll soon see if we're a good fit for each other. We've put together all the info you need about internships right here.

Most importantly, we want to teach you something! With us, you'll learn everything you need to know to get ahead in your chosen profession. Being motivated and open-minded is a great place to start. We'll help you out with the rest.
